Moving Backwards

I am so disapointed with this latest version of this app. I have been using Server app for several years and have been very happy with it. I first bought it as I was looking for a good File Sharing server app and that was my main motivation as the OS bilt in sharing app is very clumsy to use and hard to read. In the discription of this latest update, it implies that the sharing functionality has bee incorporated into the High Seria OS, This is not true, the sharing functionality has always been in the OS and is no different now as it was several years ago and was the reason I bought Server in the first place. After buying it I made use of the Cashing and Time Machine functionality, all of which have now been removed forcing you to usethe OS versions, NOT WHAT I PAID FOR. I understand that we are being coerced into using cloud based equivalents but I am not comfortable doing this until all of their security issues are resolved so they are 100% secure, Thats never going to happen. If Apple do not restore the File Sharing functionality I will be seeking my money back as the current version is not what I paid for.

Missing an opportunity

I've been using OSX/macOS server for many years and it has served me very, very well for home and small business use, allowing me to host mail, Web etc with minimal effort. Making the complex is what Apple should be about, I would thoroughly recommend this product to anyone in a similar position.
The world has changed and users have finally started caring about privacy and ownership of their data: Apple are publicly taking a lead in this but haven't spotted the role this product plays in allowing their customers to own and control their information. It could also allow them to ship more hardware in the form of a headless Mac Mini/Apple TV-like device to provide a fixed base for the huge numbers of people who use only portable devices for their work and leisure.
This is totally the wrong time to kill a great product — enjoy it while it lasts

Almost pointless

Free Mac Os X Server Download

Hungry shark world apk download. I've been administering Macs for a long time, bought the original versions of MAC OS X Server and the paid for versions of this app. They were always worth the cost and now it is free it is sadly still worth exactly what I paid for it - nothing.
Really, I get Apple's point. Their focus is consumer equipment and great client software. The whole point (I thought) of the server app was to NOT bloat the client version with loads of service that simply aren't needed for most users. Allow those who do need them to add them to a specific server and configure with Apple like ease - it (almost always) just worked.
It makes no sense to me to install client Mac OS then have to build config files and startup scripts to get (say) BIND to work. Now I need to do the hard part myself I opted to replace my OS X server with a Raspberry Pi and out of the box services using Linux.
So, now I have that off my chest. For me there is still one service that makes installing this app still worth it; Open Directory. I tried replacing this with LDAP on said RPI. I sort of feel this proves my point as this service, still with Apple like configuration still client works fairly well; still have to use Profile Manager to get the most out of this. I've only scratched the surface of the other features
in device and profile management so there is still more to the app than maybe most past users understand. None the less, to myself and thos past users this app is now a real disappointment
